Living for Something Bigger Than Yourself

Lately, I've had something touch me to become more active in the world around me. Filled with murder, hate, and blasphemy, the world is crying out for people to save it. People like you and me. We're the generation on the forefront of what you could call "destiny." What we do as a developing generation will have an astronomical impact on what kind of world we will leave for our kids and grandchildren.

I don't know about you, but it horrifies me to think that my kids could live in a world filled with pollution, depression, and poverty. I don't want that, and neither do you.

No matter what you do, I encourage you to be active. Lauren is involved in SAVE, an environmentally friendly association and I'm involved in To Write Love On Her Arms.

To Write Love On Her Arms holds a very special place in my heart, mainly because I've been there before. Two years ago I was in a state of depression that many of those seeking help experience. I was suicidal and almost did it three times. The sad thing about it is that you have absolutely no feeling, at all. It's a sense of being completely numb. Your soul is literally "unfeelable."

Then, I finally snapped out of it. I know through the power of prayer and friends I was able to beat depression. The best thing is after you come out of depression, you learn an invaluable lesson: I will never let myself stoop that low again.

To Write Love on Her Arms is a organization committed to showing people that they have more worth than they are willing to see. I love it with all of my heart, and I encourage you to check out the street team and participate.
